CACE CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

UPDATE ON CORONAVIRUS AND THE IMPACT ON OUR SERVICES

welcome to cace

Our organisation is a charity local to Cumbernauld and surrounding areas offering the services below.

COMMUNITY TRANSPORT

CACE offers a transport service to all non-profit making groups, schools, voluntary groups, Churches, Charities, Youth groups etc.

BEFRIENDING

CACE offer befriending services. We offer telephone and digital befriending at the moment with hopes of bringing back face to face befriending once safe to do so and restrictions allow it.

FOOD DELIVERY

CACE offer food parcel delivery for local groups that are trying to support those who are unable to get food during these hard times. We can take referrals and pass them onto these groups using our contact database.

DIGITAL

The pandemic made us realise we need to offer more digital based services as face to face contact was put on hold so we have developed digital based groups to bring people together and learn new skills based around digital.

FUNDRAISING

CACE regularly do fundraising in order to continue to offer the activities we do as well as viewing to branch out with new activities or groups. You can fundraise for us in many ways whether it be a sponsored walk or even a collection tin.

BECOME A VOLUNTEER

Join our team in various volunteering roles and help support your local community.

CACE 2022 Message

Happy New Year to all of our CACE family! Although Covid is still playing a very unwanted role in our lives as we enter another year, all of us at CACE continue to keep connected with older people in our community, offering a range of activities and services. Our services may not look exactly like they did before March 2020 but we continue to see this as an opportunity to try out new activities and new ways of working and to continue to reach more older people in our communities.
Thanks all of the staff for their hard work throughout 2021, our volunteers, who have continued to support us in so many ways, and our funders, who continue to be supportive and understanding of the constraints we need to work in currently. We at CACE wish you all a safe, healthy and happy 2022.

impact

Hear from the people we have supported.

CACE is my favourite charity, it helps 100's of people in the Cumbernauld area (not just the elderly). Normally they run day centres, group meetings for - crafts, football, a men's shed, Sheila's shed for women and day trips at a small cost.

In the pandemic they phone every one of their members every week, collect prescriptions, deliver donated groceries for the less mobile, deliver donations collected for babies/children by the local supermarkets and churches. They are amazing people, so kind and caring -  they have been my life line

I fundraised for CACE by climbing Ben Nevis with friends. I learned about CACE through my friend who is employed with CACE and thought the work they do for the community is excellent so we decided to try and raise £1000 to keep one of the groups going. In the end we raised over £1000.

We had a lot of fun doing the climb and to be able to do it to raise so much money for a great cause made it even better.
